Former India captain and Ex BCCI President Sourav Ganguly commented on the upcoming World Cup and shared his thoughts on Ashwin's inclusion in the Indian squad, which is a very positive and significant decision.

Ganguly said in an exclusive interview with India Today, that India is a good team with stunning momentum as they have won the Asia Cup. He hopes that India will win the important moments, and play the finals in Ahemdabad.

Saurav believes that R. Ashwin is probably the best off-spinner in the world and the best spinner in India. He supported the decision of including Ashwin in the Indian squad, as a specialist is important in this format. When asked about his first XI pick, by India Today's interviewer, he said for bowling, “If there will be a good wicket, then I will pick an extra pacer, or else I will pick Ashwin as a spinner. If there will be a spinning track, then Ashwin in 8th, or else another pace bowler.”
