Indian Cricket team head new coach Gautam Gambhir wants Abhshek Nayar as his assistant. On Tuesday BCCI formally announced Gautam Gambhir’s name as head coach of India team. He will start his journey with the Indian team from Srilanka series. Before it start, according to news agency PTI, Gautam Gambhir had requested to Indian cricket Board to rope in Abhishek Nayar into his support stuff squad.

Previously he worked with Nayar at Kolkata Knight Riders. he was the assistant coach of KKR. After conclusion of IPL Gautam Gambhir revealed how Nayar played a crucial role for KKR’S victory. Along with Gambhir other cricketers were also spoken Abhishek Nayar’s role in help to shape their career. At this moment Nayar is a academy head of KKR.

Earlier it was seen that Rahul Dravid worked with his own support stuff team. Gautam Gambhir did not want follow another road. He wants Abhishek Nayar as his deputy in Team India’s dressing room. Although BCCI did not make any comment on this mater, but Nayar is a front runner to become new assistant coach of India team.

Gautam Gambhir and Abhishek Nayar have a close working relationship. Abhishek Nayar also have a good relation with Indian test and odi captain Rohit Sharma. This also one of the reason why Gautam Gambhir wants him as assistant coach.
