Goa FC edge past the Shers with 1-0 in their opening game

The FC Goa defender Odei Onaindia recieves the man of the game award

FC Goa an established force in the league, started their campaign on a high note as they beat Punjab FC 1-0, in the Indian Super League hosted in Fatorda Stadium in Goa on Monday, October 2.

17 minutes into the game, Carl Mchugh delivered a cross from the left to Spanish striker Carlo Martinez who skillfully found the bottom right corner of the net and secured the lone goal for FC Goa. 

The match was thrilling in the second half as Luka Majcen, captain of Punjab FC strikes a goal. However, the assistant referee disallows it due to an offside call. 

The defense of both the teams were spectacular. Punjab's keeper Kiran Kumar Limbu showed off his skill and made a couple of remarkable saves to deny FC Goa strikers. On the other hand, FC Goa defender Odei Onaindia snatches the man of the game award due to his excellent defending to keep a clean sheet in their first game of this ISL season.
