Harmanpreet Kaur, the Mumbai Indians captain, has been fined 10% of her match fee for the breach of the Women's Premier League (WPL) Code of Conduct.
In a recent match between MI and UP Warriorz, she was seen involved in a heated exchange with the UP batter Sophie Ecclestone on the 16th match in WPL on 6th March. The altercation arose over an umpiring decision regarding fielding restrictions, which led to Kaur engaging in a heated argument with the officials.
During the last over of the Warrioz’s innings, the umpire Ajitesh Argal informed MI skipper about being fined, allowing only three fielders outside the circle instead of four. While Kaur opposing the decision got into a heated argument with the umpire. Meanwhile, Ecclestone, at the non-striker's end, joined in to share her viewpoint, which in turn escalated the frustration for the skipper. It didn’t take much time to turn into a fully fledged argument. However, despite that, MI managed to beat UP Warriorz.
