Rana gained attention after his stellar performance at the IPL 2024 season for KKR, taking 19 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 20.15.
Delighted Harshit Rana, after being called up for his maiden Test, stated, “It’s a big thing for me, I started my cricket here only (Delhi), and now I’m going to Australia with the Indian Team. It’s a dream come true moment and a big thing for me. It was great to be a part of the Indian team as a reserved player because when you’re with the team you get to have the same experience of an international game,”.
Rana, named in the 18-member Border-Gavaskar Trophy squad, shared Gambhir's message to him and his plans for the series with IndiaToday.
“In Australia, fast bowlers get a lot of help, I am aiming to give my best there. Rest, performances keep on going up and down, but my preparation is going really well. Gautam Gambhir just told me just one thing when my name was announced that don’t be lazy there,” he added.
