Hetmyer, Samson lead incredible fightback as Royals beat Titans by 3 wickets

At the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujrat Titans clashed with Rajasthan Royals in the second match of Sunday.

Sanju Samson played a dashing inning of 60 runs off 32 balls to repair the damage done by Md Shami and Hardik Pandya in the power play when they lost both Jos Buttler and Yasahsvi Jaiswal with just four runs on the scoreboard in the first three overs. Samson first put on 43 runs off 34 balls with Devdutt Padikkal on the third wicket and then a 59 runs partnership with Shimron Hetmyer in 27 balls. After Samson fell to GT debutant Afgan spinner Noor Ahmed, Hetmyer continued with his chase, assistance with from R. Ashwin (10 off 2 balls), he remained unbeaten with 56 runs against his name and hitting a six off the second ball of the last over registered Rajasthan’s win.  Earlier RR restricted GT to 177/7 in 20 overs although David Miller provided a late push. Being dropped earlier Miller scored 46 (30). Hardik and S. Gill went on for big hits and GT was looking set for a score around 200 but lost their stream after the former’s dismissal.
