“I was not going to play anyway”, Taskin Ahmed responding to claim of his oversleeping and missing India match

The bus left the hotel at 8.35 am and I left for the ground at 8.45 am. I almost reached the ground with the bus.

Bangladesh ace pacer and t20 vice captain Taskin Ahmed responded to the claim of oversleeping and missed Bangladesh team bus for India match. Bangladesh faced India in quarterfinals without their ace pacer Taskin Ahmed. Few eyebrows were raised after Bangladesh’s decision to play with only two pacers. India easily beat Bangladesh brigade in super 8 clash. On Monday a BCB official claimed cricbuzz that Taskin Ahmed missed the team bus as he could not wake up on time. Due to his over sleeping Bangladesh team management had to change their plans and decided to opt with two pacers. That BCB officials also told to Cricbuzz that Taskin apologised for this matter. 

Within 24 hours Bangladesh vice captain Taskin Ahmed breakes his silence on his absence from first eleven. While he admitted to oversleeping, Taskin also clarified  that his late arrival was not the only reason for him to not play that match

Taskin Ahmed told to Ajker Patrika, “I was a little late, but I reached the ground before the toss. I arrives at the ground around 30-40 minutes before the toss. I missed the team bus. The bus left the hotel at 8.35 am and I left for the ground at 8.45 am. I almost reached the ground with the bus. It was not as they did not pick me up due to my late arrive. I was not going to play anyway”.

Taskin Ahmed grabbed 8 wickets in just concluded T20 world cup. He is also the deputy of Nazmul Hossain Shanto in t20 squad.
