Iago Falque took drastic decision of leaving Columbia after his vehicle was shot thrice

After Falque Silva’s arrival, the red-and-gold brigade may release Javier Siverio.

Iago Falque, the Spanish striker who has joined East Bengal this season might not forget the nightmare he had to go through in Columbia when he was playing for America de Cali.

The 34-year-old Spanish striker joined Columbian team in January, 2022. But on 18th August last year, his vehicle was shot thrice in the Columbian city of Calia. He was fortunately not within the car.

The Spaniard Iago Falque did not delay in taking the decision and terminated his contract with the club. According to reports from Columbian newspapers, Iago was already suffering from mental anxiety when a couple of days before the incident, someone was killed by the miscreants at a restaurant where Iago was also present that time.

It has also been revealed by the Columbian newspapers that a man who was driving Falque’s vehicle showed at least three bullet holes in the body of the vehicle and explained that he was going to get gasoline when the attack took place.

However, with Falque Silva’s arrival, the red-and-gold brigade may release Javier Siverio. Iago who has not participated competitive matches for more than last three months will not take part in the ongoing Super Cup.
