The ICC has introduced a new software for the Women’s T20 World Cup. This software is part of a social media curation programme, developed to protect the cricket community from “toxic content” as well as to safeguard the mental health of the players.

ICC released an issue on the opening day of the T20 World Cup, notifying that the programme was developed to "promote a more positive and inclusive online experience for teams and players" and over 60 players are already in favour of the software.

ICC partnered with a UK software company, GoBubble which helped to develop a combination of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and human resources to detect and curate comments on the ICC’s social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube along with the players who signed up for the software.

The ICC released a statement stating - "The cutting-edge technology is designed to identify and hide from public view toxic content such as hate speech, harassment, and misogyny, helping to create a safer and more welcoming space for fans to engage with the World Cup,"

The harmful comments will be hidden from the players who signed up for this software.

Finn Bradshaw, the ICC head of digital stated - "We are dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all participants and fans of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, it's been great to see so many of the players and teams embrace our new initiative,".

The tournament is scheduled to begin on Thursday in Sharjah at 2 pm local time (10 am GMT).
