The ODI World Cup,2023 may start on October 5, with the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium
According to the news in the media, the 50-over ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 may start on October 5. The final may be on November 19. The 13th edition of the ODI World Cup will be held in India. Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai have been initially selected for a total of 48 matches, according to reports by ESPN Cricinfo and ANI news agency. However, the final will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The ODI World Cup is scheduled to begin in October. BCCI has shortlisted around 12 stadiums for the World Cup. Apart from the final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world's largest cricket stadium, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai have been kept as venues. However, the venue for any match other than the final has not been finalized. It is known that the Indian board is taking so much time to decide on the venue of the World Cup due to the decision on the date of the end of the monsoon at different times in different parts of India. In April 2011, the 50-over World Cup was held in India, so BCCI did not have to worry about the issue of rain and clouds. Besides, the BCCI is still waiting for the final clearance from the Indian government on the issue of tax exemption for the World Cup and approval of the Pakistan team's visa.
