The Indian Football Association (IFA) has sent a request letter to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Friday asking the Federation not to start the I-League this season before the third week of October so that IFA can complete the Super-Six stage of the CFL Premier Division. 

Mohammedan Sporting already submitted a letter to the IFA, requesting it to complete the ongoing CFL Premier Division without delay, so that the team gets sufficient time to prepare for the I-League.

However, it learnt that IFA is planning to start the Super-Six stage from the second week of this month. Although, the derby between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal is scheduled to be staged at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan, other exhibition matches between East Bengal-Mohammedan Sporting and Mohun Bagan-Mohammedan Sporting can be scheduled at Kishore Bharati Stadium.
