'I'm More Worried About Our Boys' ; Cummings Opens Up about the Adelaide Drama

Siraj's actions may have breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which prohibits players from using language, actions, or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter after dismissal.

The pink-ball Test at Adelaide Oval was no less dramatic. Mohammed Siraj’s fiery send-off to Travis Head stole the spotlight in the second Test.

Australian skipper Pat Cummins downplayed the incident, focusing on his team. “To be honest, they (India) can do whatever they want. I’m more worried about our boys. Travis is a big boy; he can handle himself,” Cummins stated.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Adelaide Oval saw drama when Travis Head's brilliant 140 put India under pressure. However, Siraj dismissed him with a stunning delivery and aggressively gestured for him to walk off. Head responded with words, and the crowd booed Siraj, heightening the tension.

Mohammed Siraj's expressive outburst against two Australian batters during the pink-ball Test could lead to repercussions for the Indian fast bowler. He is likely to face a reprimand from match referee Ranjan Madugalle.

Siraj's actions may have breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which prohibits players from using language, actions, or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter after dismissal.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma defended Siraj, describing his aggression as a driving force. “He likes to get into the battle. It gives him success. As the captain, it’s my job to back that aggression,” Rohit explained, while emphasising the importance of maintaining the game’s spirit. “There’s a fine line between being aggressive and crossing the limit. A word or two doesn’t make a huge difference, but we ensure respect for the game.”

With the series tied 1-1, the teams now head to Brisbane for the third Test, set to begin on Saturday. The Siraj-Head exchange has added fuel to an already heated contest, raising anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying showdown at the Gabba.
