Indian cricket shattered a long-standing record from 1877, becoming the first team to hit 90 sixes in a single calendar year. India achieved this feat after Rohit Sharma And Yashasvi Jaiswal thrashed Bangladesh by raining sixes all over the Green Park Stadium, Kanpur. 

Before India secured the top spot, England held the record for the maximum number of sixes in a single calendar year in test cricket with 89 sixes in 2022. 

Previously, team India hit 87 sixes in 2021. 

On the fourth day of the Second Test match, Team India set a new benchmark by scoring the fastest 50-run in just 3 overs, surpassing England's previous record of reaching fifty in 4.2 overs. With Yashasvi blasting 10 fours and an overhead boundary along with Hitman’s early hit game 23 off 11 balls. 

Previously, in 2023 India became the fastest team to reach the 100-run mark in conditions of overs they played, against West Indies at Port of Spain.
