In an unprecedented show India superseded China in medal tally in the Asian Shooting Championship with a total of19 medals consisting of seven gold medals, six silver and six bronze medals.

Whereas China finished second, bagging nine medals in total, including four gold medals, two silver and three bronze medals.

At the same time India achieved the highest number of quotas for the Paris Olympics this year which is 16. The country won 15 quotas for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Asian Shooting championship was staged at Jakarta, Indonesia from 8th December 2023 to 11th January 2024.
