Indian bridge team ensure bronze in Youth World Championship for the first time

The Indian Youth Bridge team acquired bronze medal in the Youth World Championship for the first time on Monday. The team beat China by eight points. The tournament is being held at Netherlands. Interestingly, the six-member Indian squad comprised all the Bengali players. The Asian Games medal-winning former player Shibnath De Sarkar has gone to Netherlands as the team’s coach.

One of the players Shouvik Kar said while speaking over phone, “It has been a great moment for all of us. I will expect this success will help the game to get more popularized and develop and ultimately get some encouragement from all the quarters of the state.”
