Indian women win SAFF under-19 in a thriller

Then in the penalty shoot-out and sudden death, the winner could not be separated as the score remained 11-11!

In a thrilling and disputable final India and Bangladesh were declared joint champions of the SAFF U-19 Women's Championship at the BSSSMK Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Thursday.

India took an early lead via Shibani Devi in the 8th Minute. The winning through was sent to her by Nitu Linda. But Bangladesh obtained the equalizer in the 93rd minute through Sagorika. The regulation 90 minutes ended 1-1.

Even in the penalty shoot-out the winner could not be separated as the score remained 11-11! Then the referee performed a coin toss to determine the winners.

India won the coin toss, but the decision was later revoked following strong protest from Bangladesh team management. The match-commissioner asked for a sudden-death but India opposed to the decision. Then after more than two hours of waiting, the trophy was shared. This is India's fourth age-group title in women's SAFF competition history, and the first on Bangladeshi soil.

Bangladesh fans however were frenzied from the beginning of the match as they continuously offered slang to Indian women.

Even the broadcaster showed partial attitude stating, that Bangladesh will be announced as a winner if the Indian team doesn't come on the field in the next 30 minutes, termed as 'walkover' since 'toss' cannot decide a winner as per regulations.

Bangladesh team did not leave the field even after 50 minutes passed since the Indian Team was declared as the winner.
