India's first gold comes from men’s 10m air rifle shooting

Divyansh would be extremely disappointed to miss the finals berth due to an Asian Games rule where only two marksmen from a particular country can make it to the finals.

India clinched their first gold medal of the ongoing Asian Games in Hongzhou (China) with the men’s team clinching the yellow metal in 10m Air Rifle event on Monday.

Panwar Singh, Rudrankkash Balasaheb and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar combined to claim the gold medal with a total score of 1893.7 and thus set a new world record too.

Rudrankksh shot 632.5, Tomar 631.6 and Panwar 629.6 to aggregate the world record score.

The silver medal went to South Koreans Sangdo Kim, Taeyun Nam and Hajun Park while China’s Linshu Du, Lihao Sheng and Haonan Yu took bronze.

While all three Indian marksmen shot amazing scores, Divyansh would be extremely disappointed to miss the finals berth due to an Asian Games rule where only two marksmen from a particular country can make it to the finals.

Rudrankksh and Aishwary also made it to the eight-shooter finals in the event and would be gunning for more glory after the qualification round.
