After an early blunder from the experienced goalkeeper that led to a goal, the men in Black responded brilliantly, showcasing exceptional skill to equalise in a thrilling 1-1 draw against Malaysia on Monday.

The first goal of the match was from the Malaysian player Paulo Josue just 19 minutes into the game. The Bengaluru FC veteran goalkeeper misjudged the trajectory. 

Rahul Bheke equalised after the early goal from Paulo Josue for Malaysia in 39 minutes at the GMC Balayogi Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad, showcasing a spectacular performance. 

While the match was packed with thrill, both teams couldn't succeed in scoring the winning goal. 

One of the challenges the young India side has struggled with is offside calls during attacks, as Malaysia's offside traps effectively nullified their pacey forwards' runs. 

After today’s draw, India remained winless in 2024, drawing 0-0 with Mauritius and losing 0-3 to Syria in the Intercontinental Cup. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Vietnam in their most recent friendly.
