Ajoy Srimani, one of the renowned club officials in Kolkata football, especially with East Bengal as the football secretary became emotional after receiving the invitation to attend in IFA-organized veteran officials' felicitation program, held on Friday.

Srimani, now 89 years old, failed to attend the function held at Khudiram Anusilan Kendra due to illness and said, "This is the gift that Maidan still remembers me. I was directly associated with IFA from 1978 to 89, a long 10 years. I was governing body member. I became the assistant secretary of IFA. So I have a lot of memories with the organization. I am thankful to the IFA secretary as he still remembers me."

However, several veteran officials including Kartik Sur, 98 years old attended the function and were felicitated. Former Indian international footballers from Bengal were also present. IFA secretary Anirban Dutta said, "Debabrata Sarkar has proposed on behalf of the East Bengal club to introduce an award after the late Pradyut Dutta's name in this function. We have agreed to his proposal."
