A total of 1,574 cricketers have been registered for the grand T-20 event.
The IPL 2025 is going to have a new flavor. Along with 409 foreign cricketers, registered for the IPL auction to be held in Jeddah on 24th and 25th November, Thomas Draca, a potential fast bowler from Italy has been registered for the auction. IPL is going to witness an Italian cricketer for the first time in 2025. A total of 1,574 cricketers have been registered for the grand T-20 event.
Thomas Jack Draca, the right-arm fast bowler recently played for the Brampton Wolves in the Global T-20 Canada 2024 and impressed everyone with his performances. Draca was the joint second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 11 wickets to his name from six innings at an average of 10.63 and an economy of 6.88.
His best performance of the season came against Surrey as he scalped 3/18 in four overs to help his team defend 198 and win the match by 59 runs.
He further registered figures of 3/10 and 3/30 against Mississauga and Surrey respectively which helped his team finish in the second spot on the points table. Brampton were knocked out in the qualifier 2 of the tournament after losing to Toronto Nationals by five wickets.
Draca has played four T20Is so far and has scalped eight wickets at an average of 8.50 and an economy of 4.25 with best figures of 3/9 vs Isle of Man. For the IPL auction, Draca has registered himself under the all-rounders’ category at a base price of INR 30 Lakh.
It remains to be seen whether Draca gets his name shortlisted by the franchises for the mega auction and if any team shows interest in bidding for the Italian cricketer.
