Is Hasan Nawaz the new hope of Pakistan cricket amidst their ongoing disaster? The 22-year-old batsman stormed the cricket world on Friday with a blitzkrieg, smashing a 44-ball century in the third T-20 International against New Zealand at Eden Park to set up the fastest T-20 hundred. Babar Azam set the mark in 2021 with his 44-ball century in a T-20 International match against South Africa.

Born on 21 August 2002, Hasan Nawaz hails from Layyah, a quiet town in South Punjab. But there's nothing peaceful about his batting. The guy has always had a knack for explosive knocks.

He made noise in the Kashmir Premier League while playing for Mirpur Royals, where he ended up as the second-highest run-getter. That's where he first started turning heads.

Then came the National T20 Cup 2022-23, where he was picked by Northern. Soon enough, Islamabad United came calling in PSL 8, and now, for PSL 10, Quetta Gladiators have roped him.

Hasan made his T20I debut on March 16, 2025, against New Zealand at Hagley Oval. Got out on a duck. Then another duck in the second match. Most would've crumbled under the pressure, but not this guy. He came out swinging in the third game and made sure the world remembered his name.

In T20s, he has played 23 matches and scored 492 runs at a strike rate of 129.47, with two fifties under his belt.  In First-Class cricket, he's smashed 587 runs in 11 matches, with a best of 169.
