Earlier United Sports drew with Lajong when the two teams faced at the SSA ground in Shillong. The home team will field their side with two points behind the visiting side.
CEO of United Sports in an exclusive interview with Parallel Sports said: “We are down by two points against the North East side and so it is a must-win match for us and our chances to be promoted to the first division will increase.” He added that Coach Steve Herbots is working hard for the team and is confident with his boys.
Captain Sanjib Mondal, told our correspondent that all the players are mentally and physically fit for tomorrow’s match. “Coach Sir has advised us to play a normal game and not to take any extra pressure.” He added that Lajong is a very tuff opponent and special attention should be given to their captain Lalmuanpuia.
Ace player Amalendu Chakrabarty told our correspondent “We are mentally prepared to face our opponent. We drew against them at their home ground now it is our turn to bring full points in our home ground.” He presumes that the United team, with a combination of junior and senior players, will show a good performance on the field and bring back the old glory of Bengal being promoted to the first division.
