IWL clubs refute AIFF's decision on having a minimum wage for the women's footballers

Some club owners have even stated that they may consider withdrawing from the league in the future, citing a lack of sponsorship, poor telecast, and insufficient cash prizes

Several Indian Women's League (IWL) club owners have expressed their dissatisfaction with the recent decision by the AIFF to introduce a minimum wage for players.

They argue that the decision was taken without taking into account the opinion of the clubs, and that it will lead to financial strain for smaller clubs who already struggle to afford basic facilities such as training grounds.

Some club owners have even stated that they may consider withdrawing from the league in the future, citing a lack of sponsorship, poor telecast, and insufficient cash prizes (10 Lakh for the winners) as further reasons for their disillusionment with the current state of the league.
