Jamshedpur FC started their opening campaign with a narrow win of 2-1 against FC Goa, on Tuesday.
The match resulted in a dramatic change of events. FC Goa led the match in the first half with one goal by A. Sadiku in 45+3 minutes. However, after half-time at 74 minutes, J. Siverio equalised the goal for Jamshedpur FC, with a penalty shoot.
Later on, the striker Jordan Murray scored the second goal for Jamshedpur, solidifying their win against Odisha, 3 minutes into the stoppage time.
When Monolo Marquez, the National Football team coach was asked about the controversial penalty he said -
"Maybe the ref saw the angle where Siverio's shirt was pulled, I've managed Siverio in 2 different clubs and I know how dangerous he's in the box. Maybe refs aren't aware that he dives, But for me it wasn't a penalty.”
