Javier Siviero may leave East Bengal, Vazquez thrilled with the club’s history

Spanish forward Victor Vasquez completed official signing for East Bengal.

East Bengal may release its Spanish striker Javier Siverio finally even though the club is not getting Iago Falque now due to his injury problem. It is believed that Siviero is going to sign for Jamshedpur FC for the remainder of the ISL. It is also learned that the Red-and-Gold Brigade is set to rope in a new foreign striker soon.

Incidentally, the club targeted Nikhil Poojary for the remainder of the ISL. But the national footballer is finally likely to sign for Bengaluru FC on a multi-year contract. East Bengal lost to Bengaluru FC also on recruiting Chinglensana Singh in the January transfer window.

However, Spanish forward Victor Vasquez completed official signing for East Bengal on Wednesday. The forward who once played with Lionel Messi in Barcelona, is thrilled with the illustrious past of East Bengal. He commented, “I am very happy to join Emami East Bengal. I have heard about the illustrious history of the club and the incredible passion of the fans from coach Carles and coach Dimas. I am excited to make my mark in Indian football and contribute to this iconic club’s success.”

Commenting on Vasquez, the team's head coach Carles Cuadrat stated, "Victor is a product of FC Barcelona's style of football. He is a player from the generation of Lionel Messi, Gerard Piqué and Cesc Fabregas.”

Cuadrat expressed optimism about Vasquez’s creativity in the midfield and opined, “His creativity in the midfield will offer many moments of joy and brilliance to the East Bengal supporters. He is accustomed to playing on the big stage, having played in the UEFA Champions League before and we believe that he will shine in the ISL too.”

However, despite the fact both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan going to face each other on 3rd February in the ISL derby at Yuba Bharati Krirangan, the red-and-gold brigade seems not to have come out of the celebrating mood they are having after the Kalinga Super Cup triumph.

The red-and-brigade has not yet resumed the preparation for the derby whereas MBSG's preparation for the derby has been intense.

The team's chief coach Antonio Lopez Habas was seen talking separately to L.Hnamte after the training on Wednesday. Ashish Rai was not present in the training. He might be unavailable for the derby. The club has registered Raj Basfore for the ISL.
