Jeopardized Real Kashmir not to play in the Super Cup

Even the coach is unsure whether Real Kashmir will continue in the ongoing I-League.

Real Kashmir is going through a severe crisis following its owner Sandeep’s sudden demise on 31st December.

The team's coach as well as the second man in the team management, Isfaque Ahmed revealed the team is likely to pull out of the forthcoming Super Cup despite the team earning eligibility to participate in the competition.

Ishfaque said, “We are completely devastated. Sandip gave me complete authority on the team's football affairs. I used to make decisions, take his permission and he used to make financial sanctions. At a time he left us when Real Kashmir had placed itself in the second position after Mohammedan Sporting with 20 points from 11 matches. Sandeep was the only man from his family who was passionate about the game.”

He added, “Now it will all depend on his son and other family members whether to inspire and push forward the team’s football.”

Sandeep’s son who was in the UK has returned and according to Ishfaque, an all-important meeting is likely to take place where decisions on the team's football.

Even the coach is unsure whether Real Kashmir will continue in the ongoing I-League. But at the same time the national coach feels, “The family members should think of encouraging the team at least to respect Sandeep’s passion and involvement.”
