Jessica Pegula Stuns the World No. 1

On the other hand, Jack Draper became the first British to make it to the last four in 12 years. Draper will either face the world number one, Sinner or Daniil Medvedev, the 2021 champion on Sunday.

This year’s US Open is witnessing history, making the predictions going wrong. Now another event took place as Iga Swiatek, the world no 1 was swept off and stunned by Jessica Pegula, on Wednesday in the semi-finals.

Pegula now whisked away the Four-time French Open title holder Iga Swiatek by sets of 6-2, 6-4 and successfully reached the semi-finals after losing six previous quarter-finals.

Pegula after her 15th appearance and 14th win in US Open stated after she stunned Swiatek -  “Finally I can say I'm a semi-finalist. I lost so many of these damn things,”

"I did everything I could to not get frustrated. I took advantage of some things she was not doing so well and just rode that momentum.”

Pegula will now face the Czech Republic’s player Karolina Muchova.

On the other hand, Jack Draper became the first British to make it to the last four in 12 years. Draper will either face the world number one, Sinner or Daniil Medvedev, the 2021 champion on Sunday.

“It's amazing. My first time on Arthur Ashe Stadium, it means the world to me," said Draper, overwhelmed by his success against De Minaur.

"I played a solid match and I feel the best fitness-wise that I have felt in a long time.”

The 25th seed has faced Sinner before and enjoyed his lead of 1-0 against him, however, this is the story of Queens three years ago.
