Jindal Football, under the domain of the BC Jindal Group, a leading business house in India has taken over Hyderabad FC, the ISL team which were going through an acute financial crisis. The acquisition marks the BC Jindal Group’s first venture into the Indian sports ecosystem.
The announcement of the acquisition of the club's sporting license has been taken recently and it has also been announced that the group will set its focus on creating a platform for young Indian talents to develop and compete at the global level.
Hyderabad FC, affectionately known as the Nawabs, was crossing through financial hurdles in recent times and as a reflection, the club was compelled to release several of its footballers.
Seven of their crucial footballers who represented the team in the last ISL like Jeremy Zohminghlua, Mark Zothanpuia Mohammed Yasir, Laxmikant Kattimani, Sajad Hussain Parray, Makan Winkle Chote, and Vignesh D have already joined different ISL teams so far.
However, the club, buoyed by the joining of new investors has been able to retain Alex Saji and Devendra Murgaonkar has also joined Hyderabad FC, terminating his contract with FC Goa.
The club plays its home games at the G.M.C Balayogi Athletic Stadium located in the suburb of Gachibowli.
“Our goal is to nurture home-grown talent and foster the growth of this beautiful game in India. We envision a future where Indian players compete at the highest international levels, and we dream of the day when India participates in the FIFA World Cup finals. This is the vision guiding our efforts in Indian football,” said a Hyderabad FC spokesperson on behalf of the new ownership.
