Kalighat MS start their campaign in style, Dalhousie AC and Peerless draw

Shakirul Ali of Kalighat MS received the man-of-the-match award from former Indian international Aloke Mukherjee and IFA president Ajit Bannerjee.

Kalighat MS started their campaign in style in the CFL Premier Division, drubbing Food Corporation of India 3-0 at Rabindra Sarobar Stadium on Wednesday. In the other two matches on the day, Dalhousie AC and Tollygunge Agragami shared points playing out a goalless draw while the match between Peerless SC and Calcutta Football Club at Kalyani Stadium (CFC) ended 1-1. 

Varun Anklesaria drew first blood for CFC in the 29th minute but the scoreline was leveled by Amit Tudu in the 64th minute. Varin was chosen man-of-the-match.

Tollygunge Agragami however had domination over Dalhousie AC the team that comprised most of the inexperienced footballers. 

Tollygunge coach Arindam Deb however expressed dissatisfaction over the referring as he said, "We deserved a genuine spot-kick but denied. Even, the referee avoided showing cards to the opposition team's defenders who fouled our striker within the six-yard box.” Altamas Syed, the striker of Tollygunge received Rs two thousand for being man-of-the-match. 

Meanwhile, Kalighat MS, maintaining supremacy almost throughout the match won against FCI by three goals. Shakirul Ali took the lead scoring in the 12th minute while Sudip Sharma Sardar and Vijoy Karmakar scored two goals in injury time.
