The current leaders of ISL, Kerala Blasters, won their first match in the Kalinga Super Cup against Shillong Lajong by 3 -1. The first half of the match was action-packed with three goals coming in this period.

After Shillong muffed a chance Kerala made the opening goal in the 15th minute following a combined move between skipper Dimitris and Peprah, with the latter finding the gap place the ball in the back of the net. Kerala increased the lead through Peprah in the 27th minute. The bulk of the credit of course goes to Prabir Das. 

Two minutes from the spot kick Shillong reduced the margin when through a penalty kick by Paulino. Soon after Kerala again scored a goal when Md Aimen nodded a floater from Daisuke Sakai.
