Kerala Blasters start their campaign with three points

Adrian Luna who also was shown yellow card for dissent was awarded the man-of-the-match as he scored the all-important second goal.

Kerala Blasters defeated Bengaluru FC 2-1 to claim all three points in the first match of the ISL.

Keziah Veendorp scored a suicidal goal in the 52nd minute. Luna swings a cross insdie the box and no one from Bengaluru FC took initiative to clear the ball. Veendorp, whose body shape was all wrong, tries to get the ball away but the ball hits him and ends up inside the net for the own goal. That is a horrible way to concede. Then Kerala Blasters doubled the lead through Adrian Luna in the 69th minute strike. Damjanovic passes the ball back to Gupreet.

The BFC keeper has a heavy touch and before he knew it, the ball was away from his control. Luna was there to capitalise on the mistake and knock the ball inside the empty net. Curtis Main reduced the margin with a 90th minute strike for BFC.

Adrian Luna who also was shown yellow card for dissent was awarded the man-of-the-match as he scored the all-important second goal and there are huge celebrations at the Kaloor Stadium in Kochi!

The first 45 minutes ended goalless. The first half did not create any excitement although both the teams earned a couple of chances. But overall, the match did not live up to the opening day hype.
