Kerala Postpones Sreejesh Felicitation

Unfortunately, the news of postponing the felicitation event was conveyed to him after the former goalkeeper reached the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram from Kannur on Sunday with his family.

Negligence of Keralian govt. authorities led a celebration day, to a day to forget. After the Indian Hockey team secured a bronze in the Paris Olympics, the Kerala government decided to honour the former star goalkeeper, PR Sreejesh, with Rs. 2 crore cash award.  

The felicitation program was set to happen for The Wall of India on 24 August, moved to 26 August and got postponed again. However, the Olympian was not informed about this. 

Unfortunately, the news of postponing the felicitation event was conveyed to him after the former goalkeeper reached the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram from Kannur on Sunday with his family.  

“I am not going to respond to this situation right now,” stated the olympian to Mathrubhumi. 

Sreejesh was a crucial member of the Indian Hockey team and in winning of consecutive bronze in the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics.
