Century-old Kidderpore SC which already drew the attention of Kolkata's football fraternity, forcing Mohammedan Sporting to a goalless draw in the CFL Premier Division on Monday, seems to have begun its second innings with a revival. The purpose is to ensure a berth in the qualifier for the Second Division I-league (Third Division I-league) this season.

With a perfect professional approach this season, the club has hired Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay Stadium at Barrackpore for the team’s training for three months spending more than Rs 1 lakh till the ongoing CFL Premier Division ends. 

The team which has gathered four points in two matches so far, has also been built up with most of the expeienced footballers who already participated in I-league. 

Ninety percent of the registered footballers including six-to seven outstation players have already experience of participating in the I-league. Suman Sarkar who has got a license has joined the team although Sayantan Das Roy is looking after the team. 

He said, "I got only a week for training in the last season. But the preparation this season is more compact and professionally managed. We could practice at Barrackpore stadium for one month. A gym was also hired. The boys had an intense fitness training under the guidance of an experienced fitness trainer. The appointment of a qualified physiotherapist has helped us to train without injury during the Pre-season training." 

One of the key reasons behind hiring Barrackpore Stadium is that Kidderpore SCplansg to put it as its home ground while fulfilling the club licensing criteria. 

Regarding its youth development program, the club has already made a tie-up with the Delhi-based club Juba Sangha which owns a residential football school. Two potential young footballers from the academy have already joined Kidderpore this season.
