Kolkata Knight Riders has named West Indian opening batsman Johnson Charles as their replacement of Liton Das for the rest of the ongoing IPL. He was unsold in the mini-auction with his base price of Rs. 50 lakhs. KKR now is placed on the eighth position in the league table with three wins. 

Charles, in his career has played in 224 T-20 matches and scored 5607 runs at a strike rate of 130, since his debut in 2008. He was found in good form when he represented West Indies against South Africa in the T-20 series. He created history by scoring a century at Centurion Park in 39 balls.
