KKR ropes in Roy replacing Shakib Al Hasan

Jason Roy recently played in the PSL 2023 where he scored a magnificent 145 off 63 in a match while playing for Quetta Gladiators.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has finally found a replacement of its forceful all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. The team has decided to rope in England batsman Jason Roy for Rs. 2.8 crore for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. Roy’s base price was Rs. 1.5 crore. 

The right-handed batter last played in the IPL in 2021 for and scored 150 runs in five matches. The 32-year-old has played 64 T-20Is for England, scoring 1522 runs at a strike rate of 137.61.

Earlier, Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the ongoing IPL due to a lower back injury while Shakib confirmed he will not be available for the tournament.

Jason Roy recently played in the PSL 2023 where he scored a magnificent 145 off 63 while playing for Quetta Gladiators which helped his team chase down a mammoth total of 240 against Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi.
