The Indian Cricket star has left his fans shocked and on an overdrive after he put a story in his Instagram profile, on 22 August. The fans quickly speculated the story was his retirement announcement from cricket. 

He previously posted a story of his return to the team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. The following post created a sensation among fans and netizens as he posted "I have an announcement to make, stay tuned…”, it raised the question of his retirement announcement. 

After some time another picture surfaced through the social media confirming the retirement announcement. 

The picture read - “After much reflection and consideration, I have decided to announce my retirement from professional cricket. This decision has not been easy, as the sport has been a significant part of my life for many years.”  Further, it thanked the fans and fellow members of the team and ended with a heartfelt note. 

However, there are some obvious queries about the authenticity of the message. KL Rahul is set to participate in Duleep Trophy scheduled for 5, September.
