Virat Kohli might reach this remarkable milestone much earlier, as he appeared in 591 innings scoring 26,942 runs.
In the upcoming test series against Bangladesh, all eyes will be set on Virat Kohli. The modern-day cricket excellence is on its way to breaking yet another record that was once pronounced as unreachable.
The seasoned batter is only 58 runs away from shattering Suchin Tendulkar’s historic feat of fastest 27,000 runs in international cricket.
Tendulkar was the fastest cricketer to reach the milestone of 27,000 runs in 623 innings. However, Virat Kohli might reach this remarkable milestone much earlier, as he appeared in 591 innings scoring 26,942 runs.
Presumably, Kohli can easily accumulate 58 runs in the next eight innings against Bangladesh and become the first cricketer in 147 years who will break the international cricket record of 27000 runs in less than 600 innings.
The veteran batter, having retired from T20 internationals, is now ready to make a mark in the traditional formats of Tests and ODIs. The much-awaited Bangladesh vs. India test series is scheduled to start on September 19.
