Virat Kohli displayed a heartfelt gesture towards Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, gifting him a signed bat and personally congratulating him on his retirement.

The Bangladesh former captain announced his retirement from test cricket after the Chennai match against India. He further announced that the Mirpur Test against South Africa would mark his last match. However, amidst the recent controversy surrounding him, his appearance in the game is still not assured. 

The Bangladesh vs. South Africa Test series will begin on the 21st October, in Dhaka and Chattogram. 

The Bangladesh Captain Shanto in a recent interview spoke about their areas of weakness, he stated - “We didn't bat well... Yes, if you look at all batters, they played 30-40 balls and then got out. It's important for one batsman to get big runs. The way Ashwin and Jaddu batted, but you need to take wickets in those moments. The way we bowled both innings - I hope Mehidy continues well in the next Test match.”
