Kolkata Derby painted red and gold after a dominating 4-0 show from East Bengal

East Bengal scored three goals within 5 minutes of unfolding this tifo almost as if it was an answer to the rival fans, taking the game away from Mohun Bagan's reach.

Smiles for Red and Gold Brigade as East Bengal U-17 shines in the Kolkata Derby. A massive 4-0 scoreline against their arch-rivals Mohun Bagan filled the camp and the fans with happiness in plenty. At the beginning of the match, Mohun Bagn's Pabitra Mandi fouled East Bengal in the penalty box and captain Gunraj Singh Grewal scored from the penalty spot to give the red and yellow army the much-needed lead.

It is a game of big emotions and Mohun Bagan Super Giant kept East Bengal under a lot of pressure in the entire first half, with repeated attacks launched at the East Bengal defence. But, the turning point of this match was when Mohun Bagan fans pulled out a Tifo in the second half of the game from the Mohun Bagan gallery targeting East Bengal. It read ‘Derby’s money thieves'.

East Bengal increased the gap with goals from Dipu Sardar, Alfred, and Debjit Roy scored goals. Mohun Bagan kept trying but only to find now way past the East Bengal goalkeeper.

At the end of the match, Mohun Bagan's coach, after facing the journalists was vocal in saying how Mohun Bagan was far behind East Bengal in terms of physical strength and that the team also suffered from lack of experience.  Moreover, despite the victory, East Bengal coach Barun Sengupta is not completely complacent and said, "We still need to improve on many things. But it is a big match and it is great that we won the derby."
