Kosaraju sounded optimistic that Supreme Court will finally do the justice to the country’s football fraternity in its verdicts following the hearings scheduled on 25th and 26th March.
The founder president of the Andhra Pradesh Football Association, Gopalkrishna Kosaraju, has sent 'explosive' emails to Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and JP Nadda, the all-India president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), making them aware of how AIFF president Kalyan Chaube misled the Supreme Court in 2020 and 2021.
In his emails to Mandiviya and Nadda, Kosaraju wrote, “Kalyan Chaube filed the impleading application dated 16th December 2020 in the ongoing AIFF constitution matter at the honourable Supreme Court (case numbers 30748-30749/2017) after he contested from the Krishnanagar Parliament Constituency, West Bengal and lost the election in 2019. He filed various affidavits (dated 15.12.2020, 16.12.2020, 25.12.2020, and 21.07.2021) where his main objections were on the executive committee members of AIFF and also on the office bearers elected from the Member Associations who were directly involved in politics. Chaubey apart, NA Haris who was elected as MLA in 2023 is one of the vice-presidents.”
Kosaraju also mentioned his mail writing, “Kalyan Chaubey again contested from Maniktala Assembly Constituency, West Bengal in 2021 and lost it.After losing the election he again filed one more affidavit on 21st July 2021 in the pending Supreme Court case”
Kosaraju, speaking to Parallel Sports on Monday said, “Chaubey has deceived not only the country's football fraternity, but also the Union Sports Ministry as well as Bharatiya Janata Party. How could he become AIFF president despite being involved directly in the politics where he himself filed affidavits to the Supreme Court against the inclusion of political persons in the football administration?"
Kosaraju added, "Even when former justice of Supreme Court LN Rao submitted the Draft Finalized Constitution and pointed out his objections regarding the issue then also none of the AIFF executives opened up. That is why, I sent the mails to the Union Sports Minister as well as the BJP All-India president.”
