On a thrilling Friday night of football, French superstar Kylian Mbappe and Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo both shone brightly, leading their respective teams to early qualification for the Euro 2024.

In Amsterdam, France faced off against the Netherlands, with Mbappe delivering an exceptional performance. The Paris St Germain forward, who has had a somewhat inconsistent start to the season, found his form in spectacular fashion, scoring twice to secure a 2-1 victory for Les Bleus. His first goal came just seven minutes into the game, a volley from Jonathan Clauss's cross. His second, a sublime curling shot from the edge of the box, came eight minutes into the second half. This marked his 42nd international goal, propelling him past French legend Michel Platini into fourth place on France's all-time top scorers list. Olivier Giroud leads this list with 54 goals. 

Meanwhile, in Porto, Portugal faced Slovakia in a Group J match. Cristiano Ronaldo, ever the reliable talisman for his team, scored twice in a thrilling 3-2 victory. Goncalos Ramos also contributed a goal to Portugal's win. Ronaldo's double took his tally to an impressive 125 international goals.
