Paris Saint Germain striker Kylian Mbappe on Friday confirmed that he will not be renewing his contract with the French club.

In a video posted on his social media, Mbappe shared, “I have always said that I would speak with you when the time comes and so I wanted to announce to you all that it is my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. I will not extend and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks. I will play my last game at Parc des Princes on Sunday.”

PSG were knocked out of the Champions League by Borussia Dortmund in the semi-final earlier this week after a 2-0 aggregate defeat to the Bundesliga club. The Parisians have already sealed the league title with 70 points from 31 games and will play Toulouse this Sunday.

“It is a lot of emotion; many years where I had the chance and the great honour to be a member of the biggest French club – one of the best in the world – which allowed me to arrive here, to have my first experience in a club with a lot of pressure; to grow as a player of course, by being alongside some of the best in history – some of the greatest champions; to meet a lot of people, to grow as a man as well, with all the glory and the mistakes I have made,” Mbappe added.

World Cup winner with France, Mbappe signed for PSG in 2017 after having made a name for himself at French club AS Monaco. During his stay in the French capital, Mbappe eclipsed Edinson Cavani to become PSG’s all-time leading goal scorer with 255 goals in 306 matches.
