The scenario is again back the tussle which was seen between  Shree Cement, the previous investor, and East Bengal has once again started between the new investor and the club after the team's dismal performance in the recently concluded ISL. 

Debbrata Sarkar, the top official of the East Bengal club, blamed Emami for the issue of sponsor and club meetings to organize the team. East Bengal's performance this season is very bad. They finished at number 10 in the points table. The red and yellow bosses gave a letter to Emami to build a good team for the next season in the ISL. The letter contained a list of a bunch of coaches and footballers. Now the reply to that letter has come from Emami.

A notification has been issued by Emami. It says East Bengal club has sent a list of names of footballers. That news is already known. In that context, we are informed that the discussion has started on the list of names given by the club officials. But it is not possible to hire a coach or a footballer based on will alone. That requires experts. We will try to build a good team. We have asked the club to meet again and again. But no date has been given to us by the club. We want to complete this meeting before the end of March. Clubs must be informed if any decisions are made about team composition.

Even though the club has been repeatedly asked to sit down, no date has been found - Emami's allegation has been dismissed as completely false by the club's top boss Debbrata Sarkar. For this, however, he counter-accused the investors. He said, "On December 10, we sent a letter to Emami asking for a board meeting. We wanted to have a meeting to discuss the poor performance of the team. But to date, we have not received his answer.” Besides, he said that "A few days ago we sat, then we were told to have a meeting in February." At that time we informed them that we will meet with the members on the 18th, committed. This meeting of members can be held on any day after the 19th (of February). Even after that, if they keep talking about not getting a date from us, it's unfortunate. I think something is going wrong.”
