Punjab King’s captain, after his return recovering from the shoulder injury, won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium. Mayers (54) stormed a half-century in 20 balls Stoinis, Badoni, and Nicholas Pooran continued the good work. Badoni and Stoinis put a 50 runs partnership in 26 balls. LSG passed 200 runs in 16 overs. Badoni eventually fell in 43 off 24 balls. Stoinis went on to score 72 off 40 balls and LSG registered 257/5. This is the all-time highest score in the history of the tournament.
The home team batters were never comfortable. Captain Dhawan was out early in the innings. Atharva Taide was the lone warrior who scored 66 runs. Sikandar Raza (36) also tried to put up a fight only to finish the innings at 201. Among the LSG bowlers, Yash Thakur bagged 4 wickets while Naveen grabbed 3 and Bishnoi 2 wickets.
