Lucknow Super Giants defeat Delhi Capitals by 50 runs, Mark Wood picks up 5 wickets

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) crushed Delhi Capitals (DC) by 50 runs on Saturday at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Lucknow Super Giants defeated Delhi Capitals by 50 runs. Mark Wood of Lucknow Super Giants took 5 wickets as the first bowler in IPL 2023. Mukesh Kumar of Bengal got a chance in the first eleven of Delhi Capitals. He gave 34 runs after bowling 4 overs.

Delhi captain David Warner won the toss and decided to bowl. Batting first, Lucknow scored 193 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Kyle Meyers batted devastatingly for Lucknow. He scored 73 runs off 38 balls and was bowled by Akshar Patel. After that Lycolas Pooran scored the maximum run for Lucknow. He scored 36 runs off 21 balls. Khalil Ahmed and Chetan Sakaria took 2 wickets each for Delhi. Akshar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav got one wicket each.

Delhi scored 143 runs for 9 wickets after going into bat with a target of 194 runs. Delhi's batting after being caught under the influence of Mark Wood. Apart from David Warner and Riley Russo, no one scored as many runs. Warner scored 56 runs off 48 balls. Russo scored 30 runs off 20 balls. Ravi Bishnoi and Abesh Khan got 2 wickets each for Lucknow without Mark Wood.
