Maharashtra Government Allots Land To Rahane; Once Given Gavaskar

After getting the land back from Gavaskar, in 2022. The Maharastra Government has decided to hand it over to Rahane for a 30-year lease. Reportedly, this proposal has already been passed.

The Maharastra government decided to hand over a 2000 square meters Bandra’s land area to Ajinkya Rahane to build and develop a cricket academy. More than three decades ago, this same land was granted to Sunil Gavaskar with similar intentions. However, despite the passage of time, the envisioned cricket academy never materialized.

After getting the land back from Gavaskar, in 2022. The Maharastra Government has decided to hand it over to Rahane for a 30-year lease. Reportedly, this proposal has already been passed.

Rahane took to his social media and thanked the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. 

“This academy will empower young sportspersons with top-notch facilities & guidance, fostering the next generation of champions in the city where my own cricketing journey began.”
