Mamata Banerjee Congratulates Mohun Bagan On Their ISL Shield

In a glorified development for Indian football, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has congratulated Mohun Bagan Super Giants for clinching the Indian Super League Shield for the second consecutive year. This remarkable achievement not only reinforces the club’s stature as Kolkata’s pride but also cements its position as one of the best teams in India.

In her official letter, the Chief Minister expressed elation over the club’s outstanding performance: “Once again, our beloved Mohun Bagan club has won the ISL League Shield. In the history of the Indian Super League, no team has ever set such a unique precedent by achieving this feat two years in a row.” 

And it further highlighted the gratitude: “I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the club’s players, support staff, members, officials, and countless fans and supporters for making Bengal the best in India once again.”

Highlighting the government’s commitment to sports development, the letter also outlined future plans aimed at bolstering sporting infrastructure and nurturing talent , “Our government is deeply committed to the development of sports and the establishment of a robust sporting infrastructure, and we have already taken many effective measures in this direction—with more to come in the future. I firmly believe that through our collective efforts, the sports scene in Bengal will achieve even greater success in the days ahead, and we will continue to be gifted with many more moments of pride” 

Concluding her message, the Chief Minister reiterated her admiration for the century-old club, “Once again, congratulations to India’s finest, Mohun Bagan. I wish this century-old club ever-increasing success and extend my warmest regards, best wishes, and heartfelt congratulations to everyone.”
