Mamata Banerjee inaugurates IFA’s First-Ever Stall at Kolkata Book Fair

Located at stall number 276, the IFA stall features the newly released Kick Off Yearbook 2024-25 and an extensive collection of books by acclaimed sports journalists.

The Indian Football Association (IFA), for the first time, has set up a stall at the Kolkata International Book Fair, making history as the first state sports association to participate. The stall was inaugurated on Tuesday by Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Urban Development Minister and Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim, Fire and Emergency Services Minister Sujit Bose, Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty, MP Dola Sen, Transport Minister Snehasis Chakraborty, Chairman of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation Sabyasachi Dutta, and State Police Director General Rajeev Kumar.

IFA President Ajit Banerjee, Secretary Anirban Dutta, Assistant Secretaries Rakesh Jha and Mohammad Jamal, and Executive Secretary Sufal Ranjan Giri highlighted the significance of this initiative in blending sports with literature and reaching a wider audience.
