Manipur walk towards a better future with Football, Minerva Academy to conduct Trial.

Minerva will search for diamonds in the rough in Manipur, by conducting trials in 8 locations the first of which will be held at SAI Academy, Takyel, Imphal West on 8th December.

Manipur has been a talent hub and a beautiful destination for Football in India, with numerous young prodigies coming up from the State. Since a good while though, this beautiful state has been struggling and battling with a war-like situation and we all prayed and hoped for things to get better. Thankfully, this might just be the start towards things getting better in Manipur.

Footballing activities has resumed a while ago in the state in certain areas and Manipur is preparing to rise again, and participate in various competitions across the Nation. Boosting their possibilities, Minerva Academy become the first to conduct a trial in this talent hub, to search for promising young talents in the State.

Minerva Academy have been working on the World Cup 2034 batch project, and have been doing exceedingly well with the same, including exposure to the young players even in International competitions. Co-ordinating with the local authorities in Manipur, Minerva have now successfully managed to organize trials in a few possible locations in the State of Manipur.

Even though things are not at it’s best but the specific regions can be somewhat said to be safer and in a better condition for football to resume and Minerva will search for diamonds in the rough. Minerva Academy will be conducting the trials in 8 locations the first of which will be held at SAI Academy, Takyel, Imphal West on 8th December, and then on at Astro Turf, Main Stadium, Senapati on 11th December, followed by the Multipurpose School Ground, Moirang on 14th December, YDA Ground, Tentha, Toubal on 16th December, Mission Ground, Ukhrul on 18th December and to end with they will move to SWC Khongman, Imphal East on the 21st of December.

We had an opportunity to get a better insight from one of the officials in Manipur football, who said, “The situation is gradually improving and football is slowly returning to Manipur. This is a great initiative by Minerva, and most of the venues mentioned are in a better situation than before except for Moirang, which comparatively is still a bit risky” and he also let us know that we can expect a decent turnout if not too many.

The kids for age groups starting from under-13, with birth year 2012 to 2016, will be selected and even offered a scholarship if eligible, and hence will have a chance to be a part of Minerva’s World Cup 2034 project along with getting to play International tournaments like the Gothia Cup in Sweden, and Mina Cup in Dubai which Minerva already conquered once.
