Manoj Tiwary recalls how he was deprived at his best; Blames MS Dhoni Indirectly

Manoj scored a splendid unbeaten 104 against West Indies in Chennai in December 2011. Still he was dropped from the playing XI in the next 14 matches.

Former Indian batsman Manoj Tiwary still has not forgotten being dropped from the national team despite scoring a century in 2011 against the West Indies. The Bengal cricketer once again raised the controversial issue while speaking to Cricket Addictor. He did not mention the name specifically, but his indirect jibe was towards the captain of the Indian team at that time, MS Dhoni.

Manoj revealed while speaking that his confidence was completely crushed and depression grabbed his concentration to carry on with consistency. He even decided to disclose all the happenings if he were to pen an autobiography or start a podcast.

Manoj explained, “See, it happened a long time ago. But yes, dukh to hota hi hai (It was sad). I would lie if I said it wasn't saddening. What can we do? It is life, but it needs to move forward. If I am to write my autobiography or do a podcast of my own, I will reveal it all. But it wasn't easy. When a player is at his peak, when his confidence is crushed, it causes a change in mindset.”

Manoj had played 12 ODIs and three T20Is for India.

Despite the talent Manoj possessed, he could not permanently secure his place on the Indian team. Manoj scored a splendid unbeaten 104 against West Indies in Chennai in December 2011. Still he was dropped from the playing XI in the next 14 matches.
